Eligibility and Document Requirements

Documents Needed For Application

Applicants to Humber College must provide scanned copies of official secondary school transcripts for admission into certificate and degree programs. When applying to graduate school or a degree program at any institution, you'll need to provide scanned copies of your Transcripts of Study.

Applicants to postsecondary diploma or certificate programs and graduate certificate programs must additionally submit a backlog summary since the maximum number of backlogged attempts approved varies by program.

International students applying for undergraduate or graduate programs in the United States must provide a letter from their current or most recently attended educational institution confirming their expected graduation date. The results of English language proficiency exams are particularly necessary for overseas candidates to submit.

All original papers must be accompanied by an English translation notarized by a government agency (where applicable). Some schools may also ask for a portfolio, audition, statement of purpose, writing samples, references, etc., along with your application. Students should carefully review the specifics of the application process as outlined on the university's website.

Admission Process

Intakes occur in the Fall, Winter, and Spring at Humber College. To be considered for admission, your application must be submitted by February 1, with no exceptions. The application period begins in mid-October. Applications submitted after February 1 will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis if seats are still available.

On February 1, Humber will begin extending acceptances. By May 1, the shortlisted applicants must respond to the offer letters. There will be a hard and fast deadline for accepting any admission offers issued after May 1. Tuition deposits from incoming Fall semester students are due by the end of June. Tuition deposits for the Winter and Spring semesters are due in late November and early March, respectively.

Remember, it's a good idea for students to check the college's website to be sure the program is still offered and when exactly it will begin.

The following are the stages involved in applying to Humber College:

  • First, you must submit a completed International Student Application to Humber College.
  • If you've been accepted to a school, you should do the following: • Once you get an acceptance letter, confirm your attendance at that school by sending a confirmation letter and
  • It is advised that the overseas candidate peruse the pages for the chosen program to ensure they have all the necessary documentation.
  • To begin, choose the desired application and ensure it is accessible.
  • Submit scanned copies of relevant documents by the desired course of study to demonstrate eligibility for admission.
  • Submit a portfolio, audition, references, statement of intent, etc., as requested by the program.

Course Tuition and Fees

Humber College has different tuition rates for each of its programs. If a student from outside the country enrolls in one of the college's degree programs, they will be required to pay a health insurance premium in addition to the standard tuition rate. All overseas students must pay the annual health insurance premium. The health insurance premium is CAD 420 in the fall semester, CAD 280 in the winter semester, and CAD 140 in the summer semester.

It is highly advised that overseas students double verify the tuition cost of a particular course on the college's website. Humber College requires overseas students to pay the entire cost of the first semester as a tuition deposit to secure a place for them to study there. All tuition and fees must be paid in full by the registering students. International students enrolling at Humber utilize Flywire, an online payment tool, to pay their tuition fees.

Scholarships & Grants

Scholarships are available to overseas students at Humber College for various reasons, including recognition of academic excellence, community participation, leadership qualities, and financial need. The overseas student may apply for one of two types of scholarships:

Award for Undergraduate Study

Non-transfer students who enroll as first-year undergraduates immediately out of high school are eligible for these awards. These awards vary from CAD 1,500 to CAD 4,000 and are presented to deserving students based on their academic performance. If recipients maintain an average of 80% or above during their four years of a bachelor's program, their awards will be renewed.

Admissions Awards for International Students

Students enrolling in Humber College's diploma, advanced diploma, or graduate certificate programs are eligible for this award. Ten foreign high school, college, or university seniors who have excelled academically will receive a CAD 2,000 merit prize.

Meritorious candidates who have accepted an offer of admission and paid the full tuition costs will be awarded the scholarship on a first-come, first-served basis. This award is available only to full-time first-year students in a degree program. Interested international students must submit a personal statement of interest, GPA, and two letters of recommendation to be considered for this grant.
