On Thursday, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited 248 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
SINP has so far invited 1,975 candidates under the draw in 2021, conducting one draw per month.
The candidates invited by SINP were from the International Skilled Worker category.
Out of the 248 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued, 72 were for candidates applying under the Express Entry subcategory, and 176 were for the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.
For both subcategories, the candidates needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 71 points to get invited.
Also, they were required to provide Education Credential Assessments (ECA) to prove that their foreign education was equivalent to Canadian standards.
Also, they had to have previous work experience in any of the 70 occupations currently in-demand in the province.

The Express Entry subcategory is an enhanced PNP stream linked to the Express Entry System.
Candidates who receive an ITA for provincial nomination gain an additional 600 points to their CRS score.
This guarantees them to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency in the next federal Express Entry draw.
The Occupation In-Demand subcategory is a dedicated PNP subcategory open for candidates who have not have an Express Entry profile.
It is for skilled professionals experienced in an occupation that is currently in-demand in Saskatchewan and do not have a valid job offer.
