Express Entry Draw - Feb 2nd 2022

Over 1k Candidates Selected By Canada For Visa Under Provincial  program

Published on : February 4, 2022

Canada continues holding Express Entry draws for provincial nominees.

Date of Draw: February 2, 2022
Number of Invitations Issued: 1070
Minimum CRS: 674
Program Specified: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Canada welcomed 1,070 Express Entry candidates to apply for the Canadian movement on February 2.

Canada once again broke the express draw record for the maximum Provincial Nominee Program with an application invitation (ITA) of 1,070 people.

The February 2 draw requires a minimum CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 674, which is 71 points lower than the previous PNP draw.

The previous record of ITA withdrawing PNP was 1036, published in January 2022.

IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) continues to avoid drawing lots for all programs, the final program in December 2020. He says he focuses on clearing up the current large balance before resuming more ITA issuance. By 2022, Canada has sent 2,498 invitations to PNP candidates.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score necessity was 674. PNP applicants get a programmed 600 points added to their score when they receive their nomination, which is the reason the score is altogether higher than a regular all-program draw. The lowest-scoring candidate would have needed just 74 base CRS points without the nomination.

 Express entry in 2022

Canada is initially expected to produce only PNP drawings. In announcing steps to improve the immigration system, Immigration Secretary Sean Fraser did not say when Canada would resume eligibility for Express Entry candidates eligible for other programs such as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). But he assured reporters that the stop was only temporary.

Following the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020, Canada moved to special draws for applicants to the Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program. This resulted in the advantage as there was an increase in the number of draws compared to last year.

What should the candidates do next?

Due to the Corona crisis, it is difficult to estimate the CRS score required to ensure ITA in 2022. This score was reduced to 75 in the 2021 CEC standard draw.

However, it is highly recommended to have an approved job offer letter.
