- Overview
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) recently held a new draw inviting 399 immigration candidates from the Skilled Workers Overseas and Express Entry streams.
The Manitoba province usually holds three Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) draws at one time and invites very few Express Entry candidates.
The latest draw did not invite any candidates from the Skilled Workers in Manitoba or International Graduate stream.
The invited candidates had to meet different cut-off EOI scores based on whether they were invited through the strategic recruitment drives or had an Express Entry profile.
The results of the draw are:
- 369 candidates were invited under a strategic recruitment drive with a minimum EOI score of 708.
- 30 candidates were invited under a strategic recruitment drive with a minimum EOI score of 703.
The candidates under the federal Express Entry System were eligible to receive only if their profile was still valid when Manitoba assesses their application.
Manitoba has several programs for inviting immigration candidates to live and work in the province.
While the province cannot award permanent residence, it helps eligible candidates by issuing provincial nominations.
Candidates wanting to benefit from a provincial nomination have to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with MPNP.
It then awards the candidates an EOI score between 1,000 points. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams allow the province to identify skilled professionals who meet the province’s labour market needs.
