Key Highlights:
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently held the third-largest Express Entry draw, inviting 888 candidates to apply for permanent residence in the country under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The IRCC issued 888 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 744 points.
The minimum cut-off score has been set very high because when the candidates get their provincial nomination, an extra 600 points are automatically added to their CRS score.
Therefore, the candidates had to have a score of just 144 points before getting nominated.
This is the third-largest PNP draw held by the Canadian government in 2021, with the largest being held on June 23, when the IRCC issued 1,002 ITAs, and the second-largest on June 9 that invited 940 candidates.
Since the start of 2021, the Canadian government has only held Express Entry draws for candidates under two programs: PNP and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
However, there has been no CEC draw since September 14, due to which the number of candidates invited is less to a great extent.
Even with the reduced number of invites in the past month, the country still issued a record number of ITAs, inviting 111,265 candidates so far this year.
This number is greater than the total number of candidates invited throughout the last year, at 107,350.
