Express Entry: 455 ITAs in 2nd PNP Draw of 2025

Canada holds the 4th Express Entry draw of the year, the 2nd draw under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

On February 4, 2025, another round of invitations was held under the Express Entry system, an online system to process Canadian permanent residence applications for skilled workers. A program-specific selection, only those Express Entry candidates with a nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program were considered. A total of 455 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued. The minimum required score was that of CRS 802 which was on the higher side as a PNP nomination in itself is worth CRS 600 points. A score is given to Express Entry candidates based on the Comprehensive Ranking System, which is then referred to as their CRS score.

The latest draw, Express Entry Draw Number 334, is the 2nd draw of 2025 for PNP candidates, Previously, PNP nominees were issued invitations in the first draw of the year, held on January 7, 2025. With the latest draw, a total of 926 PNP ITAs have been issued by Canada in 2025 so far. The other 2 draws had been targeted at candidates eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

According to the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan announced on October 24, 2024, there will be a total of 395,000 Canada PR visas in 2025. Of these, 55,000 will be issued under the Canadian PNP PR pathway which involves a nomination by a Canadian province or territory as the first step of the process. The Nomination Certificate is then used to apply for a Canada PR visa to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
