Canada student visa success rate

Canada student visa success rate is high after two years

Published on : October 27, 2022

The rejection rate of Canada study visas has reduced after two years. The visa rejection rate was around 35% in 2019 during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Later, it went down to 60% in 2022.

There was a waiting period of 8 to 10 months in some cases of Canada student visas and even higher for a few applicants. The recent reports show that there is a gradual increase in approval for the government of Canada.

  • Research to know the best-suited course
  • Shortlist the top Canadian Universities

  • Send the application to the selected university or college
  • Obtain a Letter of Acceptance from the applied university or college

According to the reports, the applicants with a three years gap are securing approvals. The consultants surmise that the improvement is a result of already rejected applicants. After rejection from the Canadian embassy, students started opting for alternate countries. The United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia were the immediate choices.

The British High Commission's recent reports revealed that the UK issued 1,17,965 study visas in a year. On the other hand, the US student visa acceptance rate was 95%. Under such circumstances, Canada fastened the study visa approvals.

One of the consultants shared that, before, only four out of ten applicants got visas. However, now it has improved to 5-6 approval out of 10 applications.

Canada is the top destination for higher studies abroad. International students prefer Canada for its quality education, friendly visa, and immigration rules. So, obtaining a Canada student visa remains difficult due to the high demand for admissions.

One of the reports reveals that there were refusals on good profiles, but now it's different. Several Indian students aspire to study in Canadian universities and colleges. There was a continued high admission rate of international students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the Canadian government limited the number of colleges for scrutiny purposes.

There was only 40% of student visa approval. While in contrast, now there is an increase of 50-60% marginal improvement.

The visa rejection could be on various grounds. Primary factors are a lack of financial stability and poor academic scores. Other reasons for refusal are language skills, amiss documents, and others.
