Canadian Immigration 2021

Canada is Committed to Welcoming More Immigrants

Published on : October 21, 2020

Despite the COVID 19 pandemic, Canada is to issue 100,000 and more Express Entry ITAs this year.

As of now, 82,850 Express Entry ITAs have already been issued this year. Current draw sizes are seeing between 3,900 to 4,200 invitations per draw.

IRCC is to conduct fresh draws on October 28, November 11, November 25, December 9 and December 23 before the year ends. If the remaining five Express Entry draws invite 3,900 candidates each, we’d have a total of 102,350 invitations before 2020 ends.

Canada would still exceed 100,000 ITAs even if IRCC issues smaller draw sizes.

It is remarkable how Canada is still inviting candidates amid the pandemic. Express Entry draws have been taking place bi-weekly since the start of the pandemic. It is to be noted that we have been witnessing record-breaking Express Entry draws since then.

The largest Canada Express Entry draw ever held was on October 14, 2020. This marked just one of the two occasions when Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for PR in Canada were issued to 4,500 Express Entry applicants. Once travel restrictions are lifted, these Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) holders will be able to build a new life for them in Canada.

Despite the disruptions Canada is supporting its economy and welcoming more immigrants. Within a reasonable amount of time they are processing more permanent residence applications.

Going by this, 2021 looks to be a great year for successful candidates.

The larger Express Entry draws also indicate that IRCC is fulfilling shortfalls in other economic class programs like the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the Quebec’s immigration programs, and others due to COVID 19.

Nevertheless, IRCC will give us a clearer picture when they announce the 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plans by the end of this month.

Right now, it seems likely that the Express Entry and overall Canada immigration targets will remain high in the days to come.
