Being nominated by a provincial or territorial government under the PNP of Canada allows the nominee to then apply for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The PNP Nomination Certificate issued to them can be used to submit their Canada PR application to IRCC.
There are around 80 immigration routes available under the PNP. Some PNP streams are linked with the federal Express Entry system. A PNP nomination under an Express Entry linked stream gets CRS 600 points. Ranking of Express Entry profiles in the IRCC pool is as per the 1,200-point Comprehensive Ranking System.
The higher the CRS score you have, the brighter the chances of getting an invitation to apply (ITA) from IRCC. Not all are invited to apply.
A total of 67 occupations - tech (29), healthcare (35), childcare (1), and other priority occupations (2) - are covered under the targeted draws held by the BC PNP.
British Columbia invites skilled foreign workers to settle in the province as permanent residents. The EEBC option refers to the Express Entry BC route and is for those with IRCC Express Entry profiles that intend to migrate to British Columbia as skilled workers.
