Speaking at the National Press Club (NPC) in Canberra, Peter Dawkins, Acting Commissioner of JSA, addressed the need for immediate action in this critical shortage, particularly in the context of Australia’s shift towards clean energy solutions.

Dawkins also highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating that, “Australia is experiencing widespread skill shortages, the likes of which we have not seen since the 1960s”.

JSA’s Roadmap to Meet Labor Needs

The 2023 Jobs and Skills Report released by JSA outlines a strategic plan to fulfill Australia’s labor requirements over the next three decades. The report’s findings propose the growth of the clean energy workforce by 60 percent by 2050. It comprises 38 occupations.
