This is the first round of invitations in August 2024. Last month, there were 9 Express Entry draws and 25,125 ITAs issued.
On August 13, 2024, the Canadian Government issued invitations under the Express Entry system. 763 were invited to proceed to the next stage and submit their complete Canadian permanent residence application.
Those invited had a nomination from a provincial or territorial government under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The minimum score required was CRS 690.
The Provincial Nominee Program offers a fast-tracked way to move to Canada as a permanent resident. There is a 2-step process involved. Firstly, a nomination must be secured from the government of a province/territory. Then, that Nomination Certificate is used to apply for a PR visa to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
8,522 invitations were sent out to PNP candidates in 2024. Of the 30 Express Entry draws held in 2024, 6 have been PNP only. IRCC has mostly focused on category-based Express Entry draws in 2024.
The minimum score requirement in a PNP-only draw is higher as a PNP nomination gets you CRS 600 as “additional points” on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
